The tea industry and many tea companies, big and small are not only explorers and participants in the area of sustainability, they are also leaders in the ideas of going and being “green” and crusading for fair-trade businesses.
What’s more, the majority of people who are regular tea drinkers are also looking for more diverse and sustainable tea businesses as they themselves are health conscious. The building will be 108,000 square foot; it will cost 21 million dollars and be made of 81% recycled structural steel.
Other things listed about this new building and its landscape is it will minimize pollution, waste and heat impact, capture about 90% of storm runoff and all plantings will be drought tolerant. For the inside and for the employees it will be more efficient for its product testing,the lunch room will have marketplace vending, the locker rooms will have showers, they will have comfortable employee collaboration interaction areas,year-round natural light will flood the facility, and indoor bicycle parking will be available.
